Workload

We had a meeting yesterday. Appraisal is going to be difficult this year. Head of department has warned of effective usage of time at work. We have to find the most effective way to finish our work in SHORTEST TIME and of HIGHEST QUALITY.

Pressure. One of my teammate is already thinking to resign. All the policies, constraints and rules are making him nuts. It's not a really big MNC corporation. Is it worth to stay working in such stringent environment?

I have to re-adjust my working habit. I even have to stay up late in order to work "effectively". That means 8 hours of day must be fully used for work. You must exclude the time for going to toilet, chatting with colleagues, reading news paper etc. Meaning that if you use up such time you must make it up after work.

I don't know. Is it really a good thing? Does it have to be this pushy? It's for the benefit of the company or for us? Managers said it's good for the company and eventually it will be good in our increment and bonus. But the increment and bonus, are they guaranteed? and is it just another uncertain promise to push us?
